We explain how much food you should give your pet according to their weight, life stage, and physical activity level.
We have two proposals, a more technical one and a simpler, informal one to start. But first, consider the following:
The B.A.R.F diet should be given to dogs considering several factors, the main ones being their weight, life stage (puppy or adult), and physical activity level (high or low).
Delilonjas Kastian are designed with your pet's nutritional needs in mind and provide the amount of nutrients your dog requires to stay healthy and beautiful, as they are a complete and balanced food.
Keep in mind that if your dog is a puppy, in addition to following our nutritional guide, we recommend consulting your trusted veterinarian so they can provide a supplement that gives your furry friend certain additional vitamins and minerals required during their growth stage.
1. How to calculate the B.A.R.F diet for your dog?
The more technical formulation.
The following nutritional guide details the amount of food in grams you should give your dog daily. Remember that for adult dogs, it's ideal to feed them once or twice a day, and for puppies, the frequency can increase to three times a day, without exceeding the feeding chart for our product, as the volume of the B.A.R.F diet is greater than that of kibble, as follows:

2. The simpler and more informal formulation to determine how much food to buy to start feeding your dog a BARF diet.
An informal recommendation we make is to calculate 3% of their total weight to determine the amount of food to give your dog per day.
For example, if your dog weighs 10kg or 10,000 grams, 3% is equal to 300 grams of food per day. You could give that amount in two or three portions during the day.
You could also calculate the monthly target. For this, the recommendation to start is to buy an amount of food equal to their total weight. That is, if your dog weighs 10 kg, you could start by buying 10kg of Delilonjas to maintain their current weight or a little less if you wanted them to lose some weight.
If it's the first time your dog tries the BARF diet, we recommend a gradual transition, WITHOUT MIXING kibble with the BARF diet in the same portion or at the same mealtime. Why? Because this can cause a lot of gas. Check out our posts on our Instagram profile to learn more about this.
But in summary, we suggest starting the first day with 25% BARF and the rest kibble, the second day with 50% Delilonjas BARF and the rest kibble. On the third day, increase BARF to 75%, and finally, by the fourth day, 100% BARF.
Observing the process is crucial. How much are they eating? If they are leaving food, you might consider reducing the amount a bit. Be careful with snacks; if you maintain the recommended amounts and give them snacks daily, they will probably gain weight.
The B.A.R.F diet doesn't have to be based on absolute formulas for all dogs. Their physical activity, climatic conditions, age, health, and even breed will define differences in the quantity and regularity of consumption. Observe, observe, and observe.
Our products are designed for the convenience of pet parents, which is why Kastian Delilonjas are pre-portioned every 50g in our packaging, making it easy to administer the food following the nutritional guide and to keep it frozen according to our product's usage recommendations.

Very important!
If your dog doesn't eat their meal portion within 15 minutes, you should remove it and keep it refrigerated. You should not leave it out for more than 30 minutes, as it may become contaminated with microorganisms and bacteria that can occasionally spoil the food and affect your pet's health.
