Get your furry friend ready for an afternoon of spooky fun!
We invite you to celebrate Halloween in a unique and fun way at La Central Shopping Center. This Sunday, October 27th, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm in the second-floor plaza, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy the most exciting event of the year with your dog: the Halloween Dog Parade 🎃🐶.
Why you can't miss it:
It will be an afternoon full of surprises, prizes, and unforgettable moments. Additionally, we will have Sebastián Jaramillo, a dog trainer, who will give us a theoretical-practical talk on:
- Dog training and exercises that promote the physical and cognitive well-being of our pets.
- Tips to improve coexistence at home and strengthen the bond with our dogs.
Costume recommendations for your dog
We know that Halloween is synonymous with creative costumes, but your pet's comfort and health should always be a priority. Here are some recommendations for choosing the best costume for your dog:
-
Comfort first: Make sure the costume does not restrict your dog's movements. It should be loose enough for them to walk and move freely, but snug enough not to slip off or cause discomfort.
-
Lightweight and breathable materials: Avoid costumes made of heavy fabrics or those that could cause overheating. Opt for soft, breathable materials to prevent your dog from feeling uncomfortable.
-
Avoid dangerous accessories: Do not use costumes with small parts that could be chewed or swallowed. It is also important to avoid sharp objects or strings that could get tangled.
-
Visibility and safety: If the event is in the afternoon or evening, add reflective elements to your dog's costume for greater safety. Make sure they are always visible, especially in crowded areas.
-
Prior tests: Have your dog wear the costume a few days before the event so they can get used to it and you can observe if there are any issues.
Fun for everyone
This event is not only an opportunity to dress up your dog, but also to learn more about how to care for their well-being. We look forward to seeing you in a space full of fun, love, and learning! Remember there will be prizes and many surprises for the best costumes, so don't hesitate to add your creative touch.
Don't miss it and come enjoy with us!
If you still don't know how to dress up your dog, here are two examples of dog costumes you can make at home easily and by hand:
1. Skeleton Costume
This Halloween classic is easy to make and doesn't require many materials.
Materials:
- A black t-shirt (that fits your dog comfortably)
- White fabric paint or white fabric marker
- Paintbrush or skeleton stencil
Instructions:
- Prepare the t-shirt: Make sure the t-shirt is made of a light and elastic material, so your dog can move easily.
- Draw the skeleton: With white paint or marker, draw the skeleton bones on the back of the t-shirt. If you're not very skilled at freehand drawing, you can find a skeleton stencil online, print it, and trace it onto the t-shirt.
- Let it dry: Follow the instructions of the product you use to paint or mark the fabric, making sure it is completely dry before trying it on your dog.
- Try on the costume: Once dry, put the t-shirt on your dog and adjust if necessary. Your dog will now be the most adorable skeleton of Halloween!

2. Superhero Costume
Turn your dog into a caped hero with this super simple costume.
Materials:
- A piece of red fabric (for the cape)
- Scissors
- Velcro or adhesive tape
- Cardboard or felt (to make the superhero shield or emblem)
- Markers or paint
Instructions:
- Make the cape: Cut a piece of red fabric in the shape of a trapezoid (wider at the bottom than at the top). Make sure the length is not so long that your dog can trip over it.
- Add the closure: At the top of the cape, attach two strips of velcro or adhesive tape so you can secure it around your dog's neck without being too tight.
- Create the emblem: Draw your favorite superhero symbol on cardboard or felt (it can be an "S" for Superdog or any other symbol). Glue or sew it onto the back of the cape.
- Adjust the costume: Put the cape on your dog, making sure it is snug but comfortable. Done! Now your dog will be ready to save the day with their new superhero look.
